Project Title; Solo Exhibition including Event Planning, Marketing and Display Work
Rational
For my final major project, I will be planning, marketing, creating, and hosting an exhibition of my intake of Indian culture. From my last projects I have learnt how to use many different software’s and platforms such as; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition and even Primer Pro, other software’s/platforms I have used are Procreate to make art work on, WordPress to publish my work on. By learning how to use these software’s by different media professors and professionals, I got to pick up many skills such as editing photos, videos and even audios. As well as editing, I got to learn how to create my own digital work which I could not been able to do before. By creating this exhibition, I will be able to display all my skills that I have learnt over the last 12 units. For this project I will be aiming to create digital art work, photography work and even use my magazine that I created last year.
Project Concept
My concept is to plan, produce and host and advertise for an art exhibition of my take of Indian Culture. This would involve creating art work, digital work and even event planning which I would look more into in my research portfolio. I got this idea through my interest of the digital pathway and even of the Indian culture. The selling point of my project would be the style of my work and how I bring little projects into one big one. For this project I would have a lot to research including exhibitions, styles of art work, digital art, photography and even a bit into the Indian culture. I would also like to go to other exhibitions and see what they are doing.
For this exhibition, my target audience are people who want to learn more about diverse cultures such as the Indian one, or even people who want expand their knowledge on the Indian one. Even with this said a lot of my target audience would be 16 – 20 years old and media and art professionals aged between 25 – 50. For this project I would be using my iPad and MacBook so I can make content on Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign. Aswell as this I would also be producing a research portfolio. My way to measure success would be one having an exhibition full of art work and photography showing my prospective on the Indian culture; having a detailed research portfolio; and having created the advertising material to promote the exhibition. To determine if I have met the first objective, I will have to turn one of the rooms into and exhibition and put the display work in there to have visitors look at what is on display.
One thing I am still not sure about is the name of my exhibition, as I wish for it to have a name that would not subject the exhibition to one sort of style or work.
Evaluation
The way I will be evaluating this project is by writing a reflective blog every Friday telling what I have done in the week, I would also write about what went well, what can I do better and even what I am going to do in the following week. By me writing this blog it will help me adjust my goals and timeline, as well as helping me to recognise my mistakes allowing me to fix them.
To finish my project, I will write one final evaluation where I will be writing about my project and if I achieved my aims for this project, what I think went well and if I think I can change anything.
