Project name – to be decided
Project author; Jasnam Nagra
Back Story
Over the last two academic years, I have been working towards my extended diploma in creative media production and technology my strength in this area is Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and even creating digital art. Another key element of the brief is my interest of advertising and Indian culture with this in mind I have decided to create a pitch for an exhibition of my prospective on the Indian culture to create the advertising material for it.
Opportunity
Indian culture has been portrayed in many ways in the world. Many people have the stereotypes of all Indian kids being smart and all Indians eat curry however, there is so much more from all of that. Such as the celebrations, dances, fashion, food, gods and much more. For the exhibition I will be showing all of this off.
Scope
This is going to be a project where visitors can learn about the Indian culture and take something away about it as well as learning about it will also help people expand on it. Hopefully, I find a way I can make this exhibition interactive so that people can take something away with them to remember the day. For my project, what I would really like to include is the Indian culture in the western world as with this I can get a first-hand experience as my parents were first generation immigrants to England, through their experience I would develop the cultural differences there are and differences they experienced. As well as having Indian culture in the western world I would also like to include what it was like growing up in an Indian household as it is important know what how diverse cultures bring up their kids.
Target Audience
For this project, the target audience would be people who want to learn more about the Indian culture and about what is it like to live in a brown household as well as this my exhibition is for the people who would like to expand their knowledge about the culture and would like to know what it is like for people migrating from India to England around the 90’s.
Constrains
For this project, my first constraint is the timing. Unlike a personal project, I only have been given 10 weeks to reach my aim and goals. Another constraint is the technology that I am available to and if I will be able to print my work off at a bigger size to show. Also, I am going to create a digital work that I want to rotate how would I protect that on a wall. One of my biggest constraints would be my location and where I want to show my work. Currently I am working with a budget and I have chosen to use a room at the Global Academy, however, this could change if I am able to get a location from ULA or if I can find a student friendly place to show my work off.
Resources
So far, I am the only one in the team for now as it is it is Hanieh project. However, but the more in the time I would need help using big friend has some images of printing expert to help. The resources I would what time is my MacBook, my iPod, Photoshop, illustrator, and design, my Apple Pencil, a camera and even a printer that I can print incises such as A0, A1, A2, and A3.
Success
To measure my success, I have three goals and objectives that I would have to achieve, the first one being having an exhibition full of different mediums of work such as photography, paintings, and digital art. The next objective would be to have successful advertising which will attract my target audience to come to the exhibition and admire what is on show. My last measure to success would be to have a detailed research portfolio looking at the different areas of Indian culture, exhibitions and even types of art.
